The story of Lot's wife came to mind when I was having some quiet time with God. So, I went to the bible and found the story. Lot, Lot's wife, and their two daughters had to escape Sodom (is the city they lived at). God was going to destroy the land because it was way too wicked. God specifically told them to leave and to not look back at the city. One individual looked back, and it was Lot's; in result she turned into a pillar of salt. (Genesis 19:26)
Lots wife was probably sad that she had to leave everything she knew of behind. Maybe that is why she looked back. One thing I have learned is that if God called you to go somewhere or he has told you to leave something behind, please do it. I know for some people this decision may not be easy, but I encourage you to do so. I believe God is trying to do something new in somebodies' life and most of the time it requires us to not look back.
Isaiah 43: 18-19- "Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."
Words of encouragement do not look back. If you are currently in a season where you know you need to move on or God has called, you to a different location; believe in him. Jesus loves you so much and only wants the best for you. Stay blessed!
