Lately, I have felt stuck; I am not going anywhere or doing anything with my life. Holy Spirit gave me the word “restore” for the year 2023, and so far, I have not seen anything being restored. God then reminded me to think back and reflect. As I began to think back, I realized that a few things in my life have changed. I had prayed about my family, environment, and health a lot over the years and noticed most of those things did come to pass.

  • John 13:7 (NLT) - " Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will." There were so many moments in my life where I became so focused on what I needed to do next: I couldn’t even enjoy the season I was in. I believe I didn’t see things being restored in my life because I was expecting my life to be restored in a different way. In the midst of all of this, God kept saying to me, “New thing, new thing.” Maybe a few new things are happening in your life, but you can't see them. It could be fear, being a work alcoholic, or doubt that is hindering you from seeing how God is truly moving in your life.

  • Isaiah 43:19 (NIV)- “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

In all honestly, I thought God wasn’t going to move in my life anytime soon. I

thought if I kept myself busy enough, I would start to see things change for myself, but God doesn’t want me to do that. God doesn’t want us to do things in our strength. He wants us to stop and realize how far we already came. He wants you and I to know what he has done!!! I want you to take a moment and reflect on the previous years. What has changed in your life? Acknowledge it, take it in, and try to enjoy where you are right now.

A word of encouragement, just breathe. A lot of the time, God is quiet because he knows you're on

the right path. Be gentle with yourself and always recognize your progress.
